[Merchants] – Game structure

Required tutorial #

When starting the game, you’ll see several instructions at the top of the screen. You will also see an arrow that will tell you where to click to learn how to move around the scenes and interact with the characters.

This is the tutorial that guides you through the first level so that you know what to do and how to get to the first negotiation. Gradually, guidance is reduced so you can make your own decisions.

Keep in mind that when the tutorial arrow jumps, it’s required to click where the program asks you in order to move forward.

Start of the first negotiation #

As you start the course, you’ll see a notification at the top of the screen telling you to go see your mentor. You will receive a lesson and then must visit the mentor’s library to pick up some reading material (to do this, click on the bookshelf next to the mentor).

When you’ve done this, you’ll receive a notification telling you where you should go for your next negotiation. For example, in your first case, you’ll see: “Teo is waiting for you at the pier.” If you click on the prompt, it will take you directly to the corresponding scene, and you can start negotiating by clicking on the character.

Keep in mind that, before starting each negotiation, you should read both the lessons and the readings that you have pending on each level:

  • Lessons: you will find these by clicking on the mentor.
  • Readings: you will find these by clicking on the bookshelf next to the mentor.

How to use the map? #

Follow these steps to use the map and move between scenes:

  1. Click the location button at the bottom right, next to the ranking button.

  1. Tap the scene you want to go to. For example, to visit the mentor, click on the “mentor” scene.

On the map, you will see the different scenes in the game (in some there are characters with whom you can negotiate, in others there aren’t). By going through them, you’ll be able to gather objective criteria, that is, useful information you can later use to enhance your proposals (but they are not mandatory).

See our article [Merchants] – Objective criteria

Format and levels #

Merchants is made up of 6 levels and each level has several parts:

  1. Mentor lesson: You’ll go to the mentor’s office to listen to a lesson (if you wait a few seconds, a message will pop up that you can click on to go directly to the mentor; you can also go through the map).
  2. Reading: After listening to the mentor, you should click on their bookshelf to read some pending readings before each new case. You can click on the notification at the top to go back to the mentor’s office (if you’re not already there). It’s essential to read the readings before moving on to the negotiation.
  3. Negotiation: You’ll negotiate with a character that the game will indicate to you. You can use the map to go to the scene where the character you have to negotiate with is, or click directly on the notification that appears at the top.

Once the case is over, you’ll move on to the next level, where the format is similar: lesson > reading > negotiation.

Note: If you can’t hear sounds, conversations between characters, or videos, check the following:

  • Your equipment has a sound card and speakers.
  • The sound is activated in the browser tab.
  • That volume is up.
  • The corporate network from which you are accessing allows the download of multimedia content (MP3 and FLV).
